Good branding lets your customer know who you are and what you do in seconds. It features concise, jargon-free copy that acts as a reliable guide for the audience to follow. Successful websites are ones that are simple to navigate, easy to understand, and interesting enough to keep your audience engaged and curious. Long story short: No one cares how much you know. The best websites meet their audiences where they are, empathizes with their frustrations, and offers a solution to their problems that aligns with their values.

In 2016, I was hired to completely rewrite/reorganize PCBC’s website. At the time, the website was confusing to navigate and cluttered with literally hundreds of pages of content written by different ministries, departments, groups, and individuals. This was a multi-department, collaborative, year long project.

Tasks:

  • Create an original, cohesive brand voice with casual, conversational tone

  • Condense, rewrite, and overhaul the layout for the site from the ground up.

  • Develop a new language to communicate core values and to incorporate the mission statement of the church into the framework of the site.

  • Overhaul giving section and simplify the payment options.

  • Develop a New Here? section to address common questions and concerns of prospective visitors, from parking to childcare to wifi connections.

  • Create new introductions for every individual ministry and group page

  • Write original blogs to link to related site copy
